0 Choosing the Right Sunglasses

Sunglasses are not a luxury. They are a necessity, as they protect your eyes from harmful sun rays. A lot of people know about protecting skin and using sunscreen on a daily basis. Protecting your eyes is as important. To do that, you should know how to select the right sunglasses, as poor selection will hurt your eyes even more. Of course it is important to look your best, but when selecting your perfect sunglasses, pay attention to our advice. Here is how to select sunglasses:
1. Look for sunglasses with good UV protection. When there is little light, the pupil widens to allow more light. Tinted glasses without UV filters are dangerous because they allow even more harmful rays into your eyes. If sunglasses don't have UV filters, stay away from them.
2. When choosing sunglasses with UV protection, pay attention to those that block 95% of UVA rays and 99% of UVB rays. Studies show that UV radiation can cause a lot of harm, including "snow blindness", cataracts, and even cancer.
3. Sunglasses should be comfortable; they should fit right and not slide down.
4. High prices don't always mean good quality. Expensive sunglasses usually reflect the latest trends, but don't guarantee good UV protection. A wide selection of sunglasses allows you to save money without compromising on style.
5. The widespread belief that dark-colored lenses help better prevent UV rays is absolutely false. UV filter, in fact, is a transparent chemical applied to the lenses. That's why there are lots of sunglasses with transparent lenses, but still, great UV protection.
6. Don't try to substitute sunglasses with contact lenses with a filter. They protect only the pupil, not the entire eye area.
7. Stay away from sunglasses that are to small, they don't provide good eye protection.
Now, let's talk about fashion. What kind of sunglasses are better to choose to not only protect your eyes, but to make a fashion statement?
If you are blonde, it's best to go with black, blue or green frames. Also you can get animal print sunglasses. Brunettes would look better in lighter shades: silver, gray or gold. Red-haired ladies can go for bright frames: purple, lime, light blue.
Nowadays sunglasses are available in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes. You can opt for glamour sunglasses decorated with rhinestones, simple classic styles or polarized sporty styles. Just don't forget to pay attention to the quality of the sunglasses and make sure they have necessary UV protection.
